Easy as 1-2-3 crock pot beef roast

This is a recipe I picked up during college from my very dear friend Tequila's Grandma.  It is so easy and so good.  (In case you haven't noticed, easy is a trend around this pig pen.)

Ingredients
2-3 pound boneless beef roast (I usually get a rump roast or whatever is on sale.)
1 package of dry onion soup mix
Water or beef stock (2-3 cups)

Now here is where it gets real easy...

You simply add the roast to the crock pot.

Pour the dry onion soup mix over the roast.

Then add water or beef stock to the crock pot to add some moisture for the cooking process.  (Tequila's grandma makes this roast with water, but I just recently started using beef stock and it does add a little more flavor to the roast, but either will do especially since water is always available in my kitchen.)

Turn the crock pot on low and let it cook for 8 hours or whenever you get home from work.  Needless to say, my roasts have been in the crock pot for over 10 hours in the past.

You can serve this roast many different ways, but we simply love to shred the beef and serve it on buns as a yummy sandwich.

As I have said with a few other recipes, it doesn't get much easier than that.

  4. I always make my roasts this way! They are so good! I have even substituted onion gravy mix when I don't have the soup mix.
