The Girls at this pig pen LOVE their shoes

This past weekend, my mother-in-law and I took my 2 daughters shopping with the sole purpose of purchasing Little Sissy's first official pair of shoes as she has started putting together a series of steps and walking will soon be preferred over crawling.

I really don't know why, but my mother was a big believer in Stride Rite shoes so I have become a fan of Stride Rite shoes.  So we trooped to Stride Rite this past Friday.

We had many options for her tiny size 5 foot and decided on this cute Mary Jane that was amazingly on sale for $29.99.

I had not planned on getting shoes for our oldest daughter, but I did know she was in need of new tennis shoes.  I was hoping to get her a cheapo pair for the summer and then a good pair in August before school started; however, since we were at the shoe store, I had the salesman measure her foot.  This would be were the make mom feel guilty part happens.  The tennis shoes she wore into Stride Rite were a size 3 and she walked out in these in a .....

size 4 1/2.  YIKES!!!  I felt horrible.  So needless to say, I didn't think we could walk out of there without a new pair of shoes since her current shoes were 1 1/2 sizes too small.  (Meanwhile, what other almost 2nd grader wears a 4 1/2?)

I thought our shoe shopping adventures were over; however, I couldn't walk through Macy's with out looking at their shoe sale racks.  I hardly ever find anything on the shoe sale rack, but it must have been my lucky day or something like that as these were calling my name.

I can't say I know what I am going to wear with them, but if you ever watch Clinton and Stacy on TLC's What Not To Wear, you know that every woman needs a pop of color somewhere in her wardrobe and I just couldn't pass on a pair of shoes that were over half off.  These shoes were originally $59.00 and I got them for $26.55 which I thought more than justified the means.

I'm afraid I am passing on my love of shoes to my girls, but there are worse things... right?

  6. firstly, Happy Birthday! Secondly, I love (not like) LOVE shoes. So I'm glad you are starting your girls early with a shoe fetish. The best thing a girl can do is accesorize!!!!! I'll be anxious to see what you wear your pink shoes with. (I have been known to buy the shoes and then go buy an outfit to wear with them.)

  7. Thanks for all of the votes of confidence on my shoe purchase. I did wear them today with a pair of khaki pants and a green apple and white print top. I think it was the perfect pop of color if I do say so myself.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Ott, A.
